Marine And Protective Coatings

A coating is a covering that is applied to the surface of an object, usually referred to as the substrate. The purpose of applying the coating may be decorative, functional, or both.

Paints are coatings that mostly have dual uses of protecting the substrate and being decorative, although some artists paints are only for decoration, and the paint on large industrial pipes is for preventing corrosion and identification e.g. blue for process water, red for fire-fighting control etc.

Most surface coatings or paints are to some extent protecting the substrate e.g.

  • Sealing and waterproofing wood
  • Sealing the surface of concrete
  • Film-forming sealers and floor paint
  • Seamless polymer/resin flooring

Epoxy And Polyurethane Floor Coatings

A wide range of floor coating products, including primers, self-levelers, and top coats based on epoxy and polyurethane chemistry. We offer low viscosity, zero and low VOC solutions with high adhesion to uncleaned or wet concrete, rapid hardening, high weather ability, and long lasting protective properties.

Polyurethane Floors are an alternative to epoxy flooring. They can be either one-component (moisture curing) or two component when they cure as a result of mixing two components together.

The most common forms of polyurethane flooring are:

  • Roller and squeegee applied Floor Coatings

  • Clear coats used to protect surfaces from scratching

  • Varnishes for wooden floors

Industrial And Transportation Adhesives & Sealants

Among the many advantages of FAMSA products for industrial and transportation coatings are their very fast cure  and wet-on-wet applications, excellent corrosion protection for thin coatings, excellent adhesion to non-blasted substrates, and good color and gloss retention.

Sealant is a substance used to block the passage of fluids through the surface or joints or openings in materials, a type of mechanical seal. In building construction sealant is sometimes synonymous with caulking and also serve the purposes of blocking dust, sound and heat transmission. Sealants may be weak or strong, flexible or rigid, permanent or temporary.
